Student Resource Managers

The Student Resource Managers at Nashville State Community College work with you to identify social, emotional, or academic challenges and develop strategies that will aid in your classroom performance. They serve as a support link between students, faculty, and staff, to support your academic success. They collaborate with community partners, as an educator and advocate for Nashville State students like you!

Mental Health Resources

NSCC offers free counseling services through Recuro Health’s teletherapy program. Students must meet with the Student Resource Team to sign up for this service. Students can contact the Student Resource Team at brian.lee@nscc.edu or courtney.woodard@nscc.edu to schedule an appointment.

Textbook Assistance

The Nashville State Foundation provides textbook assistance to eligible Nashville State students who are pursuing an associate degree or technical certificate and have an unmet financial need. NSCC Foundation Textbook Assistance is not guaranteed, and awards are based on funding. 

Eligibility

  • Students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and have unmet financial need. 
  • Students must complete a new application each semester.

  • Spring semester - opens December 1

Please Note:

  • Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-serve, semester-to-semester basis. Receiving assistance in one semester does not guarantee that you will receive assistance in a future semester.  
  • Due to funding restrictions, there are limits to the support we can provide each semester. Your application does not guarantee assistance. 
  • Students will not be awarded the full cost of their textbooks. 
  • Nashville GRAD and Nashville Flex students automatically receive a textbook stipend each semester. GRAD and Flex students should not submit this form. Instead, they can request additional textbook assistance by communicating directly with their assigned Student Success Advisor.

Technology Assistance

Nashville State offers several options for students to stay connected with their online and virtual classes. Whether you need a laptop or access to internet, we’ve got you covered.

Eligible Nashville State students may check-out laptops and other devices, such as calculators, each semester on a first-come, first serve basis from the Mayfield Library on the White Bridge campus. Devices must be returned at the end of each semester. Computers are available for checkout on a first-come, first-served basis.

To be eligible, you must: 

  • be a currently enrolled student 
  • be degree or certificate-seeking
  • have zero balance on student account

Falcon Market

At Nashville State Community College, we are all about community. We don’t want anything to get in the way of our students succeeding academically. The Falcon Market (Campus Cupboard) provides groceries and personal care items for students that need a little extra help.

Requirements:

  • Students must currently be enrolled at Nashville State. 
  • Students must be pursuing an associate degree or technical certificate. 
  • All orders are to be completed through the online process. NO open shop. 
  • Please pay attention to the campus the order is placed on. (Example: If you order from the Southeast campus, you will be required to pick it up from the Southeast campus. Orders WILL NOT be delivered to and from campuses.)

Find your pick-up location:

  • Clarksville campus: Pick up your order at the front desk. Call 931-472-3450 for assistance.
  • North Davidson campus: Pick up your order at the front desk. Call 629-208-7400 for assistance.
  • Southeast campus: Pick up your order at the Student Services Office (Room 1004). Call 615-780-2760 for assistance.
  • White Bridge Road campus: Pick up your order at the Student Success Center (W-90). Call 615-353-3222 for assistance.

Transportation Assistance

The Nashville State Community College Foundation is proud to partner with WeGo Transit and the Clarksville Transit System to offer a Transportation Assistance Program that provides semester-long bus passes at no cost to NSCC students pursing an associate degree and technical certificate. Passes are valid from the first day of classes through the last day of final exams each term. If you have a WeGo Transit bus pass, you will keep the bus pass until you are no longer a student at Nashville State.

If you lose your bus pass, you will need to pay a $10 fee before you receive a replacement card. You can pay your $10 here or pay cash to the Foundation Office (We are temporarily located in the D-Building. Please visit office D-50 to pay cash for lost bus passes). Make sure you select Beyond Financial Aid – Transportation Assistance as your designation. 

Please note that due to funding restrictions, there are limits to the support we can provide each semester. Bus passes are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Childcare Assistance

The NSCC Foundation offers a Childcare Assistance Program to help subsidize the cost of childcare for student-parents attending Nashville State during the fall and spring semesters.  Childcare assistance can be used to subsidize the cost of daycare and before-/after-school care. Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis and funds are paid directly to state-licensed childcare providers.  
 
Nashville State Community College Foundation provides a 1-time payment for childcare during any given semester. Students must apply each semester for childcare assistance. NSCC Foundation Childcare Assistance does not provide monthly childcare payments. Due to funding restrictions, there are limits to the support we can provide each semester.

Eligibility:

  • Students must be the legal parent or guardian of the child(ren) for whom assistance is requested. 
  • Students must be enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours) in a degree or certificate program at Nashville State. 
  • Students’ child(ren) must be 12 years old or younger. 
  • If requesting childcare assistance for child(ren) age 5 or younger, students must also apply for childcare payment assistance from the Tennessee Department of Human Services and provide documentation regarding the status of the application.
  • Students’ child(ren) must be enrolled with a childcare provider that is a licensed by the Tennessee Department of Human Services.
  • Students are responsible for securing placement for their child(ren) with the licensed childcare provider.
  • Students must provide documentation from the provider that 1) verifies child(ren)’s enrollment, and 2) states the daily, weekly, or monthly rate charged for care.
  • Previously awarded students who maintain eligibility will be required to complete a new application each semester but will be given priority. 

Please Note:

  • Childcare Assistance is not available during the summer semester. 
  • The program does not cover childcare registration or enrollment fees, health assessment or immunization fees, or other childcare costs not associated with daily/weekly/monthly charges for enrollment. 
  • Students must apply each semester they are enrolled at Nashville State. 
  • Students who qualify and apply for childcare assistance but are not approved due to limits on available funding will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which applications are received.
  • Childcare Assistance is not guaranteed.

Maximum Assistance Per Semester:

  • $1,000 for 1 child
  • $1,500 for 2 children
  • $2,000 for 3+ children

Diapers for Diplomas

NSCC has a partnership with Nashville Diaper Connection through the Diapers for Diplomas scholarship. This scholarship provides up to 200 free diapers every month to parenting students.

Students must meet the scholarship's eligibility requirements listed here.

Once a student has been accepted into the program, they must be sure to follow all communications from Diaper Connection. Diapers are delivered once per month to the front desk of each campus, or in W-90 at the White Bridge Campus. To apply for this scholarship, click here.

All good things must come to an end, including your time at Nashville State. But what comes next? We’re here to help you figure that out.

WBR Campus Fitness Center

Students have access to a fitness center located at the White Bridge Road campus off the lobby of the Kisber (K) Building.The center is equipped with cardio and strength training equipment available to all employees and currently enrolled students.
