If one AI tool is not generating a desirable assignment or rubric, you can always try switching to another AI tool and compare the differences between the two. Just remember to make sure there is still alignment between the learning objectives, assignments, and rubrics. Start by copying and pasting the assignment generated by the old AI tool into the new AI tool. In the example below, I am using Gemini.

Note: Any rubrics generated by AI should be doubled checked to ensure they properly align and assess the assignment. In addition, it is important to note that AI tools like ChatGPT do not always calculate the point total correctly, which means it will have to be corrected manually.

Prompt: Create a detailed analytic rubric worth 25 points and format the rubric as a table.

Continue editing the rubric until it properly aligns with your assignment and learning objectives. Editing could include changing point totals, adding or removing criteria, or altering the wording of the assessment areas. For instance, the above rubric includes concept definition, supporting references, and analysis within content accuracy as one criteria, but you may wish to separate analysis into its own criteria.

Note: Do not rely on the AI tool alone. It is important to double check all aspects of the work generated by the AI tool throughout assignment creation.
