Guide to APA style

What's a Periodical?

Periodicals are any materials issued periodically. This might be on a weekly, monthly, bimonthly, etc. basis. Newspapers, magazines and journals are all periodicals. According to the 7th edition of the APA Style Manual, you should not treat periodical articles from academic databases any differently than you would the print version. Do NOT include the address of the database from which you retrieved the article. If the article has a DOI, you should include that after the page number(s). If there is no DOI, but the article has a URL that will resolve for any reader, include the URL at the end of the reference.
